Tempe, AZ (Sports Network) - Jordan Bachynski scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Arizona State Sun Devils escaped with a 56-52 victory in their Pac-12 Conference battle against the USC Trojans at Wells Fargo Arena
Trent Lockett added 11 points as Arizona State (9-20, 5-12 PAC-12) snapped its four-game losing streak.
Byron Wesley scored a career-high 22 points for USC (6-23, 1-15). Maurice Jones chipped in 12 points on 4-of-13 shooting from the floor as the Trojans lost their seventh in a row.
The Sun Devils led 31-26 at halftime after they shot 60 percent from the floor and converted 10-of-13 from the charity stripe in the opening period. USC trailed at the break after it made 45.8 percent of its field goals in the first half.
Both teams went cold in the second half and shot below 40 percent from the floor in the final 20 minutes. The Trojans narrowed their deficit by hitting 6-of-7 at the free throw line in the second half. USC trailed by just one- point after Allen sank two free throws with 5:41 remaining. Neither team scored until Chris Colvin completed a three-point play with 19.4 seconds remaining to lift Arizona State to the victory.
The Sun Devils held a 36-20 advantage in the rebounding battle.
