NCAA Game Summary - Hawaii at Louisiana Tech

Ruston, LA (Sports Network) - Trevor Gaskins had a near triple-double, with 22 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, to lead the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs over the Hawaii Warriors, 84-67, in a Western Athletic Conference bout at the Thomas Assembly Center.
For the Bulldogs (15-14, 5-7 WAC), Brandon Gibson added 16 points.
Vander Joaquim led the Warriors (15-13, 6-6) with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Zane Johnson scored 11 points and Jeremiah Ostrowski dished out 10 assists.
Hawaii got off to a strong start, scoring the game's first seven points and led by as many as eight points. But Louisiana Tech responded by going on a 16-4 run midway through the half to take its first lead which sent it into the halftime with a 42-36 advantage. The Bulldogs shot 46.9 percent in the half, including 6-of-14 from beyond the arc. The Warriors shot 44.8 percent and 3-of-6 from three-point distance.
In the second half, Louisiana Tech connected on just 41.7 percent of its shots from the field, but hit 5-of-10 from long range. Hawaii shot 42.3 percent in the half, but could only manage to make 2-of-9 from three-point range. Leading 45-41 early in the second half, the Bulldogs exploded for 16 unanswered points in a five-minute span to go ahead 61-41. The Warriors countered with a 16-4 run to cut the deficit to just eight points with a little more than six minutes remaining, but the Bulldogs ran off 11 straight points to put the game away and coast to victory.
Hawaii held the edge in points in the paint, 33-29, and in rebounds, 36-32. Louisiana Tech outscored Hawaii from the free-throw line, 23-14.
