NCAA Game Summary - L-S-U at Ole Miss
(Saturday, February 25th)
Final Score: Ole Miss 72, LSU 48
Oxford, MI (Sports Network) - Terrance Henry led all scorers with 21 points and in the process went over 1,000 for his career, as Ole Miss drilled the LSU Tigers, 72-48 in Southeastern Conference play at Tad Smith Coliseum.
Nick Williams added 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting for the Rebels (16-12, 6-8 SEC), who ended a three-game slide in blowout fashion. Reginald Buckner scored seven and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds to help Ole Miss return the favor from an 81-55 blowout loss at LSU on Jan. 7.
Winners of four straight entering today's tilt, the Tigers (17-11, 7-7) suffered a crushing blow to their NCAA Tournament hopes as they shot just 31 percent from the floor. Storm Warren tallied a team-high 13 points in 13 minutes off the bench, while Andre Stringer was the lone starter in double figures, finishing with 10 points on 3-of-11 shooting.
LSU never led in the contest, as the Rebels claimed a 34-24 halftime lead behind a 50-percent shooting effort from the floor.
Things went from bad to worse in the second half for the Tigers, who connected only 8-of-31 field-goal attempts (.258) and went 2-of-14 from beyond the arc (.143).
Both teams made four three-pointers for the game, but Ole Miss did it in seven attempts while the Tigers needed 23 tries. The Rebels also held a 22-8 scoring advantage at the foul line. With his effort today, Henry became only the second player in school history to amass 1,000 points and 100 blocks in a career.
