Jacksonville, AL (Sports Network) - Nick Cook posted a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Jacksonville State Gamecocks to a 69-59 victory over the Southeast Missouri State Gamecocks in Ohio Valley Conference action at Pete Mathews Coliseum.
Brian Williams scored 14, Ronnie Boggs added 13 and Grant White also chipped in 10 for Jacksonville State (13-17, 7-8 OVC).
Southeast Missouri State (14-14, 9-6) was paced by Tyler Stone who scored 16 points and brought down eight rebounds. Michael Porter added 13 points as well for the Redhawks.
Jacksonville State led 27-17 at the end of the first half after shooting just 37.9 percent from the floor. Southeast Missouri State was even worse managing only seven field goals in the first twenty minutes.
The Gamecocks led by as many as 16 in the second half thanks to an incredible 27-of-36 effort from the free throw line.
Jacksonville State outscored Southeast Missouri State 31-17 from the charity stripe in the game and also held a 42-37 edge on the boards.
