Birmingham, AL (Sports Network) - Cameron Moore tallied 25 points and 11 rebounds as the UAB Blazers downed the Tulane Green Wave 81-73 in a Conference-USA tilt at Bartow Arena.
Preston Purifoy scored 19 points for UAB (12-14, 7-6 C-USA) while Jordan Swing added 19 points. The Blazers have now won five of their last six games.
For Tulane (15-11, 3-9), Ricky Tarrant led all scorers with 33 points. Josh Davis had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds and Jordan Callahan chipped in 11 points for the Green Wave, who have lost three in a row.
Neither team shot well in the first half, with Tulane going 9-of-25 from the floor and UAB making good on just 8-of-26 of its field goals. The Blazers were able to take a 30-27 lead into halftime by going 10-of-14 from the foul line.
Both teams shot 50 percent in the second half, but UAB again held the advantage at the free-throw stripe, connecting on 24-of-27 while Tulane went 13-of-16, as the Blazers held on to win.
UAB held a convincing advantage on the boards, 38-27.
