NCAA Game Summary - Western Carolina at Elon

Elon, NC (Sports Network) - Trey Sumler posted 22 points and passed out seven assists as the Western Carolina Catamounts outlasted the Elon Phoenix 78-76, in overtime, in a Southern Conference tussle at Alumni Gym.
Keaton Cole scored 19 points to help pace Western Carolina (12-17, 6-10 SoCon), while Tawaski King added 13 points and collected nine rebounds. Harouna Mutombo chipped in 10 points and grabbed eight boards as well for the Catamounts.
Jack Isenbarger scored 22 points to lead the way for Elon (13-14, 8-8), while Lucas Troutman finished with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. Drew Spradlin and Ryley Beaumont chipped in 11 points apiece, with the latter also collecting 12 rebounds.
The Phoenix shot 48.1 percent from the field during the opening stanza to earn a 35-31 halftime lead.
The Catamounts battled back during the second frame, and actually led by as many as five with a little over three minutes remaining. The Phoenix answered, tying the contest at 62-62 with 15 seconds remaining on a Spradlin jumper, which is how the score remained until the end of regulation.
In overtime, the Catamounts were paced by an 11-of-15 effort at the charity stripe.
The Phoenix were guilty of a game-high 24 giveaways during the meeting.
