NCAA Game Summary - Nevada at Iona

New Rochelle, NY (Sports Network) - Scott Machado recorded a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 15 assists as the Iona Gaels defeated the Nevada Wolf Pack, 90-84, at the Hynes Athletic Center as part of BracketBusters weekend.
The Gaels (22-6), winners of three in a row and seven of the last eight, had a total of five players score in double figures and were led by Lamont Jones with 18 points. Off the bench it was Randy Dezouvre with 17 points, Mike Glover added 15 and nine boards and Sean Armand 13 points for the hosts.
The Wolf Pack (22-5) was paced by Olek Czyz who dropped in a game-high 28 points, followed by Deonte Burton with 21. Dario Hunt handled action in the paint with 15 points and a game-high 14 rebounds and Malik Story tallied 10 points and seven assists, but he shot just 2-of-9 behind the three-point line as the visitors had a three-game win streak snapped.
Expected to be a high-scoring affair, Iona shot an impressive 65.5 percent from the field in the first half, Nevada 54.8 percent, leaving the Pack with a one-point deficit at the break, 47-46. Both squads knocked down five three- pointers in the period.
In the second half Nevada dropped all the way down to just 38.7 percent accuracy from the field and once the team became desperate they ended up connected on just 1-of-12 behind the three-point line, allowing the Gaels to claim the six-point win.
Iona finished the day hitting on a sizzling 62.3 percent from the floor and 8- of-14 on the perimeter in order to offset 15 turnovers.
