GAME NOTES: The Delaware Blue Hens attempt to extend their season-long winning streak to six games this afternoon, as they welcome the Hampton Pirates to the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark for a BracketBusters matchup.

Hampton is in the midst of a sub par season with a 9-16 overall record and a 5-7 mark in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The Pirates had lost seven of their previous nine games before blowing out Maryland-Eastern Shore on Wednesday, 82-62.

Delaware was fighting along this season with a 9-12 record heading into the month of February, but has since ripped off five straight wins to shoot up the Colonial Athletic Association standings. After posting a 71-57 win at Hofstra on Tuesday, Delaware is 10-6 in conference play.

The Blue Hens are 3-1 against Hampton since the latter moved up to Division I back in 1995.

Hampton has not been a strong offensive team this season, putting up just 64.8 ppg, though it tied a season-high with 82 points in Wednesday's win over UMES. The Pirates shot an impressive 53.6 percent from the field, led by Darrion Pellum's 33 points. Pellum is the MEAC's top scorer this season, as he averages 18.4 ppg, though he struggles with his shot, both overall (.376) and from behind the three-point line (.315). David Bruce adds 10.4 ppg at a 50.3 percent shooting clip, and he grabs a team-best 8.1 rpg as well. Mike Tuitt scores 9.3 ppg and dishes out 5.0 apg. Hampton is in the red in both rebounding margin (-2.3) and turnover margin (-0.8).

Delaware averages 68.3 ppg, second to only George Mason in the CAA, and that figure has gone up in recent weeks as it has scored 74.4 ppg during its current five-game win streak. The Blue Hens put together one of their best overall efforts of the season against Hofstra on Tuesday, shooting 45.1 percent from the floor while holding the Pride to a lowly 28.1 percent. Jamelle Hagins posted his 13th double-double of the season with 14 points and 18 rebounds, and he now averages 13 ppg and a CAA-best 11.1 rpg. Saddler scores 18.3 ppg, which is tops in the conference, and adds 1.8 three-pointers per game and 4.0 rpg to the mix. Ball control is not one of UD's strengths as it owns a turnover margin of -2.50.

Hampton has not fared well against better competition this season. Delaware's current streak has featured some impressive wins against George Mason and at Georgia State, so defeating Hampton at the Carpenter Center shouldn't be much of a problem.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Delaware 75, Hampton 60
