(Wednesday, February 15th)
Final Score: Ohio University 72, Bowling Green 59
Athens, OH (Sports Network) - D.J. Cooper scored a game-high 22 points as the Ohio University Bobcats posted a 72-59 win over the Bowling Green Falcons in Mid-American Conference play at the Convocation Center.
Cooper made good on 7-of-14 shots from the floor and pulled down five rebounds for the Bobcats (20-6, 8-4 MAC) as they snapped a two-game slide.
Leading the way for the Falcons (13-12, 7-5) was Scott Thomas with 17 points, Dee Brown 15 and Jordon Crawford 11 points as the team had a four-game win streak halted.
Both teams had trouble finding the basket from behind the three-point line in the first half, Ohio connecting on a mere 2-of-11 from long distance and the visitors 1-of-7, but still the Bobcats were able to secure a 28-26 lead at the break.
In the second half Ohio focused more on shots closer to the basket and ended up converting 46.7 percent from the floor in order to claim the 13-point win.
The Bobcats were guilty of 15 turnovers on the night, but made up for those miscues by beating BGSU on the glass by a 43-26 margin.
