Columbia, SC (Sports Network) - Malik Cooke scored 13 points, and his bank shot in the lane with 19.4 seconds left lifted South Carolina to a thrilling 57-56 win over Georgia.
Brenton Williams scored 10 for the Gamecocks (10-15, 2-9 SEC), who snapped a four-game slide.
Gerald Robinson had 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Bulldogs (12-13, 3-8), who won their previous two games.
The teams headed into halftime with the Gamecocks holding a 28-26 lead. Georgia took a 46-39 lead with 9:10 remaining, but South Carolina rallied again and went back in front at 50-48.
Robinson nailed a three-pointer from the left corner for a 56-55 Georgia lead with 41.7 seconds left, but Cooke then darted into the lane for his go-ahead bucket.
At the other end, Damontre Harris rejected Robinson's shot along the right baseline. Bruce Ellington got the rebound, but he missed the 1-and-1 free throw. Caldwell-Pope gave the Bulldogs a look for the win, but his three-point try missed.
Officials then put 0.2 seconds left on the clock after a held ball in the battle for the rebound, but the ensuing inbounds pass was tipped away.
Harris played a big role with nine points, nine rebounds and five blocks.
