NCAA Game Summary - Jacksonville State at Tennessee State

Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Robert Covington hit a game-tying three- pointer to force overtime and finished with 28 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Tennessee State Tigers to a 69-64 overtime victory over the Jacksonville State Gamecocks in Ohio Valley Conference action at the Gentry Center.
Wil Peters came up big down the stretch and finished with 10 points and four assists for TSU (18-10, 11-4 OVC). The win was the eighth in a row for the Tigers.
Brian Williams scored a team-high 14 points for JSU (11-17, 6-8). Nick Cook had a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Ronnie Boggs recorded a double-double of his own with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Gamecocks took a 32-26 lead into halftime after they shot 52 percent from the field in the opening period.
Although TSU connected on just 38.1 percent of its field goals after the break, it was able to rally back and tie it up by converting 12-of-15 from the charity stripe in the final 20 minutes. JSU held the lead in the second half until Covington hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 3:28 left in regulation. The Gamecocks regained the lead and led 58-55 before Covington hit another clutch three-ball to tie it up. Williams missed a game-winning attempt at the end of the second period.
JSU led by two with 1:45 left to play in overtime, but Peters scored the final seven points of the game to give TSU the victory.
