NCAA Game Summary - Mississippi State at L-S-U

Baton Rouge, LA (Sports Network) - Anthony Hickey hit a runner with 1.4 seconds left to play to lift the LSU Tigers to a 69-67 overtime victory over the Mississippi State Bulldogs in a Southeastern Conference thriller at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
Ralston Turner led LSU (15-10, 5-6 SEC) with 17 points. Justin Hamilton netted 14 points and swiped four steals while Andre Stringer and Storm Warren added 10 points each. Warren also grabbed 11 rebounds as the Tigers won their second game in a row.
Dee Bost scored 15 points and handed out five assists for MSU (19-7, 6-5), as it lost its second-straight game. Rodney Hood chipped in 14 points, Renardo Sidney had 13 points, and Arnett Moultrie recorded a double-double of 10 points and 11 boards.
The Bulldogs took a 36-29 lead into the intermission after they shot 53.6 percent from the field in the opening period. MSU led by 17 points with 6:19 left in the first half.
LSU rallied back after the break by hitting 39.3 percent of its field goals while holding MSU to 37.5 percent shooting in the second half. The Bulldogs led 58-56 with 41 seconds left before Hamilton evened the score with a pair of free throws. Moultrie turned it over on MSU's next possession and Hamilton missed a potential game-winner at the end of regulation which pushed the contest into overtime.
The Tigers held a 67-63 advantage with 22 seconds left in overtime before MSU quickly tied it up with a Sidney three-pointer and a Brian Bryant free throw. However, Bryant missed his next free throw attempt which set up the stage for Hickey's game winner.
Despite the loss, MSU held a 43-32 advantage on the glass. The Tigers' swarming defense forced 21 turnovers which it converted into 18 points.
