NCAA Game Summary - Fresno State at Hawaii

Honolulu, HI (Sports Network) - Vander Joaquim tallied 23 points and 12 rebounds as the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors held off the Fresno State Bulldogs 62-58 in a Western Athletic Conference bout at Stan Sheriff Center.
Hauns Brereton scored 12 points for Hawaii (14-10, 6-4 WAC), which has won three of their last four games. Joston Thomas chipped in 11 points for the Rainbow Warriors and Jeremiah Ostrowski dished out seven assists.
For Fresno State (11-16, 3-8), Jerry Brown recorded 17 points and Tyler Johnson netted 10 points. The loss for the Bulldogs comes on the heels of back-to-back wins.
Hawaii took a 28-24 lead into halftime behind 45.8 percent shooting from the field. Fresno State connected on just 38.5 percent of its attempts in the first half.
Fresno State came out of the break hot and a Brown bucket gave the Bulldogs a 37-35 lead with 15:58 remaining the second half, but Hawaii answered immediately with a 10-0 run to retake the lead with 12:04 left. Fresno State climbed back again to make it a single-possession game on a few occasions but Hawaii never surrendered the lead.
Fresno State committed just eight turnovers but Hawaii converted those miscues into 15 points.
