Stockton, CA (Sports Network) - A Ross Rivera layup in the final seconds capped off a 12-point comeback for the Pacific Tigers as they took down the CS-Northridge Matadors 62-61 in Big West Conference action at Alex G. Spanos Center.
Rivera came off the bench to score a career-high 26 points for Pacific (10-14, 6-6 Big West), which has won three of its last four games.
For Northridge (6-17, 2-10), Josh Green scored 19 points, Stephen Maxwell tallied 13, and Vinnie McGhee went for 11 and nine assists. The Matadors extend their losing streak to four games.
Northridge shot an impressive 54.2 percent from the floor in the first half to take a 33-21 lead into the break. Pacific made just eight field goals in the frame.
Pacific came out in the second half red-hot, going on a 24-10 run to take a 45-43 lead on a Colin Beatty jumper with 10:04 remaining. The teams spent the stretch run exchanging leads and 23 seconds left, a Maxwell dunk gave Northridge a 61-60 advantage. With one final possession, Pacific put the ball in Ross's hands and he delivered in the waning seconds to give the Tigers the win.
Ross scored 19 of his 26 points after halftime, missing just two shots in the final 20 minutes.
