Greenville, SC (Sports Network) - Charlie Reddick had 16 points and Bryan Irwin scored 14 off the bench, as the Furman Paladins routed Western Carolina 80-66 in Southern Conference play at Timmons Arena.
Bobby Austin chipped in with 12 points to help the Paladins (13-13, 7-8 SoCon) snap a two-game slide.
Tawaski King had 14 points and six rebounds to pace five players in double figures for the Catamounts (10-17, 4-10), who have now dropped seven of their last nine contests.
Furman buried six first-half three-pointers and shot 58.3 percent from the floor to jump out to a 38-24 halftime lead. WCU made only 9-of-26 field goals (.346) in the opening frame.
The Paladins put the game away with another 50-percent shooting effort and five more treys in the second stanza. They led by as many as 27 four minutes into the second half.
Furman shot 54 percent from the floor and 55 percent from three-point range (11-of-20) for the game. The Paladins' bench out-scored the Catamounts' reserves, 35-13.
