Fayetteville, AR (Sports Network) - B.J. Young poured in a game-high 27 points to lead the Arkansas Razorbacks to a 76-65 victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks in an SEC tussle at Bud Walton Arena.
Hunter Mickelson added 11 points off the bench to help pace Arkansas (17-8, 5-5 SEC), while Devonta Abron chipped in 10 points and collected six rebounds.
Damontre Harris scored 12 points and collected seven boards to lead the way for South Carolina (9-15, 1-9), which also got 11 points and eight boards from Malik Cooke.
The Gamecocks were held to just 38.5 percent from the floor during the opening period of play, enabling Arkansas to jump out to a 38-27 halftime lead.
The Razorbacks never looked back during the second stanza, hitting 50.0 percent of their attempts from the floor en route to the 11-point win.
The Gamecocks were guilty of a game-high 21 giveaways during the meeting.
