Final Score: Middle Tennessee 68, Arkansas-Little Rock 60
Murfreesboro, TN (Sports Network) - LaRon Dendy scored a game-high 23 points as the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders recorded a 68-60 win over the Trojans of Arkansas-Little Rock in Sun Belt Conference play at the Murphy Center.
Also scoring in double figures for the Blue Raiders (23-4, 12-1 Sun Belt) as the continued to dominate conference play, were Marcos Knight and Kerry Hammonds with 13 and 10 points, respectively, in the team's third win in the last four outings.
The Trojans (12-14, 9-3) were paced by Will Neighbour who accounted for 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the floor, followed by D'Andre Williams with 18 as the team had a four-game win streak come to an end.
UALR led by as many as seven points just four minutes into the first half, but the visitors failed to defend well against the Blue Raiders as they shot a sizzling 70 percent from the floor in the period to claim a 35-30 advantage at the break.
In the second half Middle Tennessee again had the hot hand at 57.1 percent, but a mere 7-of-16 shooting performance at the free-throw line meant the team had to fight for the eight-point win.
MTU shot just 12-of-27 at the charity stripe on the afternoon and turned the ball over 14 times, but made up for it with 63.4 percent accuracy from the field.
