Mobile, AL (Sports Network) - Mychal Ammons poured in a game-high 25 points and collected nine rebounds to lead the South Alabama Jaguars to a decisive 74-57 decision over the Arkansas State Red Wolves in a Sun Belt Conference matchup at the Mitchell Center.
Augustine Rubit added 14 points to go with eight boards in the win for South Alabama (13-10, 5-7 SBC).
Ed Townsel scored 17 points to lead the way for Arkansas State (10-16, 4-7), which also got 11 points off the bench from Trey Finn.
A 55.6 percent field goal shooting effort over the opening 20 minutes earned the Jaguars a 35-27 halftime lead.
It was more of the same during the second stanza, as the Jaguars connected on 52.0 percent of their attempts from the floor en route to a 17-point win.
The Red Wolves shot at an under-whelming 43.1 percent clip during the meeting.
