Boca Raton, FL (Sports Network) - Shavar Richardson sank 2-of-3 foul shots with 1.1 seconds left to boost Florida Atlantic to a 72-71 victory over the Denver Pioneers in a Sun Belt Conference contest at FAU Arena.

Greg Gantt led the way with 18 points for the Owls (10-14, 6-5 Sun Belt), who bounced back after a two-game slide. Raymond Taylor had 14 points and Alex Tucker 11 for FAU, which blew a 15-point halftime lead, but managed to pull out the win despite trailing by four with 14 seconds left.

Denver scored 46 second-half points thanks to a sizzling 17-of-21 shooting performance in the final 20 minutes. Chris Udofia had 20 points, six boards and six blocks, while Brian Stafford added 18 points for the Pioneers (17-8, 7-5), who lost for the third time in four tries. Royce O'Neale ended with 16 points.

The Pioneers shot 59.6 percent for the game, but they couldn't hold on defensively. Gantt hit a three-ball with 10 seconds left. Two seconds later, Stafford missed a pair from the charity stripe, and he fouled Richardson, who made the first two attempts to win the game.

The Owls used a 15-2 run in the first half to take a big lead, but Denver's hot shooting rallied the Pioneers into the lead midway through the second half.

FAU held a 31-26 rebounding edge and in second chance points (12-3).
