Bowling Green, KY (Sports Network) - Jamal Crook led all scorers with 24 points as the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers downed the South Alabama Jaguars, 75-66, in a Sun Belt Conference matchup at E.A. Diddle Arena.
For the Hilltoppers (8-15, 4-6 SBC), Teeng Akol finished with 13 points. George Fant scored 12 points and T.J. Price chipped in 11 points.
Augustine Rubit led the Jaguars (12-10, 4-7) with 20 points, while Antione Lundy finished with 15 points and Freddie Goldstein scored 11 points.
Both teams shot well to open the contest, with Western Kentucky connecting on 53.6 percent of its field goals and South Alabama making 48 percent. The teams entered halftime knotted at 35-35.
After the break, the Hilltoppers continued their strong shooting, making 56 percent of their shots from the field while holding the Jaguars to 40.6 percent. Western Kentucky drained 4-of-7 from three-point range in the second half while South Alabama managed just 1-of-5 from beyond the arc.
