NCAA Game Summary - Wichita State at Missouri State

Springfield, MO (Sports Network) - Garrett Stutz and Ben Smith combined for 46 points as the Wichita State Shockers downed the Missouri State Bears 74-67 in Missouri Valley Conference action at JQH Arena.
Stutz scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Shockers (19-4, 10-2 MVC) who have won nine of their last 10. Smith added 21 points, while Joe Ragland and Toure' Murry chipped in with 10 each. Demetric Williams handed out five assists.
Kyle Weems scored 21 points for the Bears (13-11, 6-6) who have lost two of their last three. Jarmar Gulley (14), Anthony Downing (13) and Keith Pickens (12) joined Weems in double figures while Michael Bizoukas dished out six assists.
Wichita State led 36-34 at halftime after shooting 51.9 percent from the floor in the first half. Missouri State trailed despite shooting 65.2 percent from the field.
Wichita State stretched its lead to 12 with 9:15 left in the game. The Shockers shot 46.4 percent from the floor over the final 20 minutes.
Prior to the game the Bears paid tribute to their former coach Charlie Spoonhour, who passed away on Wednesday at age 72. Spoonhour coached the Bears for 12 seasons, from 1983-92 when the school was known as Southwest Missouri State. He took the Bears to the NCAA tournament five times.
