Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Tyreek Duren had 22 points and La Salle set a new Tom Gola single-season wins record with an 85-72 triumph over Charlotte in Atlantic 10 play.
Jerrell Wright totaled 18 points, while Sam Mills and Earl Pettis each scored 13 for the Explorers (17-6, 6-2 A-10), who earned their 12th victory at home this season. La Salle has won four in a row since a January 18 loss to Temple.
Chris Braswell paced Charlotte (10-11, 2-6) with 19 points. Javarris Barnett and DeMario Mayfield each had 15 points, while Jamar Briscoe scored 10 in a losing effort.
La Salle, which shot 52.7 percent from the field, including 10-of-21 from three-point range, led by 10 late in the opening half. However, the 49ers surged late to tie the game at 36 on a three-ball from Briscoe. Duren's three then gave La Salle a 39-36 halftime edge.
The Explorers then took it to the 49ers, scoring nine in a row to begin the second half, but the visitors had it back to 51-50 midway through the second half. A late 8-0 run by La Salle expanded its lead to 68-57 with 5:09 left after a short jumper from Duren.
La Salle remained comfortably ahead the rest of the way.
