Mobile, AL (Sports Network) - Augustine Rubit converted a crucial basket from under the rim with 1.8 seconds remaining in order to give the South Alabama Jaguars a 68-66 win over the Troy Trojans in Sun Belt Conference play at the Mitchell Center.

The Jaguars (11-9, 3-6), who snapped a three-game slide, were paced by Rubit who finished with 18 points, 19 rebounds and five blocked shots, while Antoine Lundy also tallied 18 points in the team's second win over the Trojans in just over two weeks.

Troy (7-13, 2-7 BSC) was paced by Emil Jones who registered a double-double of his own with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Will Weathers and Justin Wright both dropped in 12 points and R.J. Scott and Alan Jones contributed 11 points apiece as well.

Troy grabbed an early lead in the meeting, but after 20 minutes of action the visitors found themselves in a deep, 18-point hole at 45-27. The Trojans shot just 28.2 percent from the floor in the first half and failed to make a single trip to the free-throw line. Over on the other side, USA knocked down 53.8 percent from the field and 13-of-21 at the charity stripe in the period.

In the second half the lead reached 20 points for the Jags, but the team left the door open for the Trojans to battle back as the hosts missed all eight chances behind the three-point line in the period and hit on only 32.3 percent from the field overall.

In a game that saw five ties and 14 lead changes, South Alabama turned the ball over 18 times but made up for those by outscoring the visitors at the free-throw line, 16-5.

The victory also served to provide USA head coach Ronnie Arrow his 200th with the program.
