Bronx, NY (Sports Network) - Branden Frazier knocked down 4-of-7 three- pointers en route to a game-high 20 points, as the Fordham Rams rallied for a 63-58 win over George Washington in Atlantic 10 action from Rose Hill Gym.
Chris Gaston provided a spark with 16 points and six rebounds off the bench for the Rams (9-11, 2-5 A-10), who are back in the win column after suffering consecutive losses by 40-plus points. Kervin Bristol added 10 points and eight rebounds in the win.
The Colonials (8-13, 3-4) entered the weekend one of 11 teams separated by one game or less in the jumbled A-10 standings, but they spoiled an opportunity to gain some separation. Tony Taylor led the way with 17 points and seven assists, Lasan Kromah scored 13, and Nemanja Mikic finished with 12 points and seven boards.
Fordham grabbed a 31-24 halftime lead after holding the Colonials to 7-of-24 shooting from the floor (.292) in the first half.
Trailing by 10 midway through the second stanza, GW came to life with a 20-8 run to take a 55-53 lead with 2:09 to play. However, the Rams answered with a jumper from Devon McMillan and four free throws from Gaston to surge ahead 59-55 with 29 seconds remaining. Lasan Kromah's three-pointer with 11 seconds remaining made it a 59-58 game, but Taylor missed a potential game-tying three in the final seconds as Fordham prevailed.
The Rams held a commanding 44-24 rebounding advantage for the game and also held GW to 33.3-percent shooting from the floor.
