Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) - Damian Lillard scored 21 points to lead the Weber State Wildcats to a 75-60 victory over the Sacramento State Hornets in Big Sky Conference action at The Nest.
Scott Bamforth chipped in 17 points as Weber State (16-3, 8-0 Big Sky) won for the tenth time in a row. Darin Mahoney recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds while Kyle Tresnak added 13 points.
John Dickson led Sacramento State (5-14, 0-8 Big Sky) with 20 points. Jackson Carbajal netted 14 points while Dylan Garrity scored 10 and handed out nine assists. Konner Veteto pulled down a team-high eight rebounds as the Hornets remain winless in conference play.
The Wildcats took a 42-28 lead into halftime after they shot 53.3 percent from the field and made 5-of-13 from three-point range in the opening period. Sacramento State attempted seven less shots and made 43.5 percent of its field goal attempts in the first half.
Weber State was able to protect its first half lead by shooting 52.6 percent from the floor and making 10-of-14 at the charity stripe in the final 20 minutes.
The Wildcats won the rebounding battle 36-26, and outscored the Hornets 26-18 in the paint.
