Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Chris Udofia scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Denver Pioneers to a 66-52 decision over the Arkansas State Red Wolves in Sun Belt Conference action at Magness Arena.
Brian Stafford chipped in 15 points as Denver (16-5, 6-2 Sun Belt) was victorious for the third time in four games. Royce O'Neale pulled down six rebounds in the winning effort.
Malcoln Kirkland led the Red Wolves (9-13, 3-5) with 19 points. Brandon Peterson grabbed a game-high eight rebounds.
Denver took a 28-21 advantage into the intermission after it shot 40.9 percent from the field and made 7-of-11 from the charity stripe in the opening period. The Red Wolves shot 45 percent from the floor, but they fell behind after going 0-of-3 from three-point range and 3-of-6 from the charity stripe in the first half.
Arkansas State made 47.4 percent of its field goals after the break, but the Pioneers attempted 10 more shots and went 8-of-12 from beyond the arc in the second half to extend their lead.
