Missoula, MT (Sports Network) - Art Steward scored 20 points to lead four players in double figures as Montana took an 85-56 romp over Sacramento State in a Big Sky conference battle from Dahlberg Arena.
Mathias Ward had 16 points and Kareem Jamar and Will Cherry each added in 12 for Montana (13-6, 6-1 Big Sky). The Grizzlies have now won eight of their last nine.
Sacramento State (5-13, 0-7) was paced by Heath Hoffman who scored 12 points. Konner Veteto netted 11 for the Hornets who have now lost eight straight.
Montana led 43-29 at the half by shooting a scorching 65.0 percent from the floor, although the Bobcats were just 2-of-7 from beyond the arc. On the other side Sacramento State netted 45.5 percent of its shots from the floor and was 1-of-2 from three point range.
In the second half Montana limited Sacramento State to just 35.5 percent shooting while continuing to shoot the ball well itself at 65.2 percent as the Bobcats secured the easy win.
Montana was disruptive on defense with snatching 12 steals and forcing 17 Sacramento State turnovers.
