Fairfax, VA (Sports Network) - Ryan Pearson poured in a game-high 24 points and collected seven rebounds to lead the George Mason Patriots in a decisive 66-46 win over the Albany Great Danes in consolation-round action of the NIT Season Tip-Off at the Patriot Center.
Mike Morrison added 13 points to go with nine boards in the win for George Mason (4-2), which also got 12 points and seven rebounds from Sherrod Wright.
Logan Aronhalt scored 15 points to lead Albany (2-3) in the loss, while Gerardo Suero tallied 10 points and Blake Metcalf pulled down 12 rebounds.
The Great Danes were limited to a miserable 17.9 percent from the field during the first period of play, opening a commanding 33-18 lead for the Patriots heading into the break.
The Patriots then converted 50.0 percent of their attempts from the floor over the final 20 minutes to roll to the 20-point victory.
The Patriots dominated down-low, besting Albany in the paint by a 52-22 margin during the contest.
