Lafayette, LA (Sports Network) - Omondi Amoke registered a double-double with 14 points and a game-high 12 rebounds to help lead the Cal State Fullerton Titans to a 73-63 win over the Nicholls State Colonels as part of the Beryl Shipley Classic at the Cajundome.

The Colonels (0-3) were paced by Chris Talkington who tallied 17 points on 6- of-7 shooting from the floor, while Trevon Lewis dropped in 10 points off the bench in the setback.
Nicholls State led by as many as four points midway through the first half, but the team made just 2-of-7 shots behind the three-point line and 5-of-10 at the charity stripe in the frame, leaving the Colonels with a 35-29 deficit at the break.
In the second half Fullerton put the game out of reach by connecting on 11- of-14 at the free-throw line, en route to the double-digit victory.
In a game that saw 10 ties and just as many lead changes, the Titans survived 21 turnovers thanks in part to a 24-12 scoring edge at the stripe.
