GAME NOTES: With 12 combined wins between the two schools, the William & Mary Tribe and Radford Highlanders will clash at the Kaplan Center looking for a light at the end of the regular-season tunnel in a BracketBuster matchup.

When the basketball season is reaching the end of February and a team only has five victories that is evidence of a nightmarish campaign. That is the case for the Highlanders, who have stumbled through a 2-14 ledger in Big South Conference action. Overall Radford has dropped 21 games and comes into this matchup with a four-game slide.

The Tribe have also endured problems in their league, posting a mere 3-13 mark in Colonial Athletic Association action. Overall William & Mary has suffered through 20 losses and comes into this game with eight setbacks in its last nine matchups.

The Tribe and Highlanders last collided in 2009 and the Tribe were victorious, defeating Radford for the third straight time to take a 4-2 lead in the all- time series.

When looking at Radford's season it is easy to see where things went wrong for this squad. The Highlanders have been completely ineffective at the offensive end of the floor and head into this game, averaging just 60.0 ppg, behind a poor 38.7 percent shooting effort. There is not one player on the roster posting double figures, as Blake Smith is leading the team with 9.1 ppg. Radford's terrible offensive play was on display in its recent loss to Presbyterian, as the Highlanders finished with just 49 points in an overtime loss. The Highlanders shot a weak 35.6 percent from the floor and made just 6- of-26 attempts from long range. Blake Smith and Gorkem Sonmez led the way with 12 points apiece, but outside of those two players there was not much going on for the Highlanders in the loss.

The Tribe have also suffered through a difficult season in terms of offensive production, as William & Mary is producing just 63.4 ppg on the year. However, the last time the Tribe took the floor the team enjoyed a rare offensive explosion, posting 78 points. Unfortunately that did not lead to a win as William & Mary eventually fell to Hofstra in overtime. The loss takes away from the fact that the team had one of its best showings, shooting 42.6 percent, while finishing 12-of-25 from long range and 20-of-22 from the foul line. Quinn McDowell, who is leading the team with 15.3 ppg and 5.3 rpg, paced the squad with a double-double of 28 points and 12 rebounds, while Julian Boatner tallied 16 points. The offensive spark is clearly McDowell, but William & Mary doesn't have a reliable second option, as the next best player is Brandon Britt and he is not exactly lighting up the world with his 10.5 ppg.

Neither team has enjoyed much success this season, but one team has to win and with William & Mary playing at home, the Tribe should have the edge in this matchup.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: William & Mary 69, Radford 62
