New York, NY (Sports Network) - The duo of Jake Cohen and J.P. Kuhlman scored 17 points apiece to lead the Davidson Wildcats to a 76-69 victory over the St. Francis-NY Terriers in the consolation match of the Madison Square Garden Holiday Festival.
Clint Mann added 15 points in the win for Davidson (6-5), which has posted victories in three of its last five contests. Nik Cochran got into the mix as well for the Wildcats, checking in with 10 points off the bench as he nailed all eight of his free-throw chances.
Ricky Cadell posted a game-high 21 points to lead the way for St. Francis-NY (6-5), while Akeem Johnson tallied 15 points to go with 10 rebounds in the loss. Stefan Perunicic netted 13 points for the Terriers, while Dre Calloway notched 11 before picking up his fifth personal foul of the night.
The Terriers were limited to a mere 28.6 percent from the field during the opening stanza, allowing Davidson to take a 33-28 lead into the break.
In the second half, the Wildcats converted 20-of-22 from the charity stripe to keep the Terriers at bay and earn a seven-point win.
The Terriers shot just 36.5 percent from the floor in the loss, including a 3- of-15 performance from long range.
