Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Logan Aronhalt scored 18 points as the Albany Great Danes held off the Bowling Green Falcons, 56-55, on the final day of the Detroit bracket of the Legends Classic at Calihan Hall.
Tim Ambrose scored 13 points and added seven rebounds for the Great Danes (3-5), who won their second straight. Luke Devlin and Blake Metcalf provided seven rebounds each.
Cameron Brown scored 14 points and added 10 rebounds to lead Bowling Green (1-6). Scott Thomas had 13 points and Dee Brown tallied 12 points for the Falcons, who lost five straight.
Albany led 26-23 at halftime despite going just 11-of-30 from the floor in the first 20 minutes.
Bowling Green went on a 10-0 run midway through the second half to take a 49-40 lead, but Albany responded with a 9-1 spurt to tie the game at 49 with 5:56 remaining. Metcalf hit a jumper to give Albany a 56-53 lead with 1:35 left in regulation. Black hit a lay-in to make it a one-point game with 12 seconds remaining, but Brown missed a three-point attempt with three seconds left that would have won the game for the Falcons.
Bowling Green was just 4-of-21 from long range in defeat.
