Las Vegas, NV (Sports Network) - Cory Johnson posted a game-high 18 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead the Valparaiso Crusaders to a 68-62 victory over the Texas A&M Corpus-Christi Islanders as part of the Las Vegas Invitational at Orleans Arena.
Howard Little added 13 points and collected eight rebounds in the win for Valparaiso (4-2).
Desmond Watt scored 14 points and grabbed nine boards to lead the way for Corpus Christi (2-5), while Justin Reynolds chipped in 13 points in a losing effort.
The Crusaders connected on 40.0 percent of their attempts from the floor and added 10-of-12 from the charity stripe to earn a slim 27-26 lead at the break.
In the second half, the Crusaders hit 54.2 percent from the field en route to the six-point win.
The Islanders were guilty of a game-high 16 turnovers in the loss.
