NCAA Game Summary - Quinnipiac at Virginia Tech (Wednesday, March 17th) Final Score: Virginia Tech 81, Quinnipiac 61 Blacksburg, VA (Sports Network) - Malcolm Delaney posted a game-high 25 points while grabbing seven rebounds and passing out six assists to lead the top- seeded Virginia Tech Hokies to an 81-61 victory over the Quinnipiac Bobcats in first-round action of the NIT tournament at Cassell Coliseum. Dorenzo Hudson added 19 points in the win for Virginia Tech (24-8). Justin Rutty scored 22 points and collected seven boards to lead the way for Quinnipiac (23-10), while James Johnson tallied 17 points to go with eight dishes in a losing effort. The Bobcats were limited to a mere 39.3 percent from the floor during the opening stanza, enabling Virginia Tech to take a 39-27 lead into the break. In the second half, the Hokies hit 47.1 percent of their attempts from the field to earn a 20-point win. Quinnipiac shot just 38.1 percent from the field in the loss.
