NJIT snaps 51-game losing streak
Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - New Jersey Institute of Technology ended the longest losing streak in Division I at 51 games with a 61-51 victory over Bryant Wednesday night.
Jheryl Wilson had 26 points to lead the Highlanders (1-18), who won for the first time since February 19, 2007 at Longwood.
NJIT's streak covered parts of three seasons, the last four games of the 2006-07 campaign, all 29 contests last year and the first 18 this season. Coincidentally, Wednesday's win was the 800th all-time for the NJIT program.
