CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) Clemson has extended the contract of athletic director Dan Radakovich through June 2022.

The university announced the move Monday.

Clemson President James P. Clements called Radakovich one of the country's best athletic directors and was grateful he wanted to continue leading the Tigers.

Radakovich, who came over from Georgia Tech, took control of the athletic department after the retirement of Terry Don Phillips in December 2012.

The school recently began a $63.5 million renovation of Littlejohn Coliseum. Clemson is also finishing a $55 million football operations building expected to be completed in January.

Radakovich also serves on the College Football Playoff selection committee.
