Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Phillies have placed outfielder Domonic Brown on the paternity leave list and recalled outfielder Aaron Altherr from Double-A Reading.
Brown is hitting .225 with five homers and 39 RBI in 81 games this season.
Altherr appeared in one game for the Phillies earlier this season.
Also Wednesday, right-hander Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez was activated from the 60-day disabled list and optioned to Reading and right-hander Mike Adams will take Gonzalez's spot on the list as he has been transferred to the 60-day disabled list.
In addition, the team announced that catcher Wil Nieves will begin a rehabilitation assignment with the Gulf Coast League Phillies.
