The previous two weeks, the Buffalo Bills had orchestrated comebacks. This time, they were ones to blow a lead.
Mike Nugent kicked a 43-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Cincinnati Bengals to a 23-20 victory and hand the Bills their first loss of the season.
Buffalo became the first team in NFL history to post back-to-back wins in games in which they trailed by 18 or more points. On Sunday, the Bills (3-1) squandered a 14-point advantage at halftime.
