Niels Giffey had a career-high 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help No. 21 Connecticut rally for a 73-62 victory over Stony Brook on Sunday.
Shabazz Napier had 15 of his 19 points in the second half for UConn (5-1), and Omar Calhoun added 14.
Dave Coley led Stony Brook (4-2) with 15 points and Tommy Brenton added 14.
The game was tied at 39 when Connecticut began a streak of 3-point shooting that saw it make its final eight attempts from behind the arc. A four-point play by Napier put UConn up 61-47 with just over 4 minutes left and sealed the win.
The Huskies finished 10 of 22 from behind the arc.
