NEW YORK (Reuters) - Niklas Backstrom set the record for most wins by a Minnesota Wild goaltender on Wednesday when he earned his 114th victory with the franchise in a 5-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks.
Minnesota forward Antii Miettinen scored the game-winning goal early in the final period and the Wild held on for their fourth win in a row.
A win on Thursday against the St Louis Blues would give the Wild their second five-game winning streak of the season.
Vancouver pulled goalie Roberto Luongo in favor of Andrew Raycroft after he let in five goals on just 19 shots.
