Lazio jumped into fifth place in Serie A ahead of fierce rival Roma on Tuesday, cruising to a 3-0 defeat of Udinese at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Roman club overcame Cristian Ledesma's 12th-minute miss from the penalty spot, scoring twice before the close of the first half and adding a third after the restart.
Alvaro Gonzalez opened the scoring for Lazio in the 17th minute while Miroslav Klose doubled the advantage just after the half-hour mark.
Hernanes scored in the 59th minute to seal the victory and lift Lazio to 26 points on the season.
Udinese snaps a streak of four successive draws, dropping its fourth league match of the season to remain on 16 points.
