Ruston, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Following a 29-8 debut season in Conference USA, Louisiana Tech and head men's basketball coach Mike White have agreed in principle to a six-year, $3.6 million contract extension.
The new long-term contract extension is pending the approval from the University of Louisiana System's Board of Supervisors.
The 29 wins in 2013-14 tied for the most victories ever in a single season in program history. The Bulldogs also claimed a share of the league's regular season title.
Louisiana Tech lost to Florida State in the quarterfinals of the National Invitation Tournament.
White has accumulated a 74-31 record over three seasons as head coach of the Bulldogs. He has the best winning percentage at the 100-game mark of any men's coach in school history.
