The Cleveland Indians have signed pitcher Robinson Tejeda to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The right-hander split 2011 between Kansas City and Triple-A Omaha. In nine relief appearances with the Royals, he went 0-1 with a 6.14 earned run average while going 0-3 with a 3.80 ERA in the minors. He also spent five weeks on the disabled list early in the season with shoulder inflammation.
Tejeda, who turns 30 in March, has compiled a 23-27 career record with a 4.42 ERA in 186 games (53 starts) for Philadelphia, Texas and the Royals.
