The Arizona Diamondbacks reinstated shortstop Didi Gregorius from the 7-day concussion disabled list prior to Saturday's game against the San Diego Padres.
Gregorius had been sidelined since April 26, when the rookie was forced to leave a matchup against Colorado after being hit in the head by a pitch from the Rockies' Josh Outman.
The 23-year-old had gone 11-for-27 (.407) with a pair of homers in seven games prior to the injury. Gregorius had also missed the first 2 1/2 weeks of the season due to a sprained right elbow he suffered during the spring.
Outfielder Alfredo Marte was optioned to Triple-A Reno to make room for Gregorius. The rookie batted just .186 with four RBI in 22 games to begin the season.
