The Chicago Cubs on Wednesday placed reliever Lendy Castillo on the 15-day disabled list with a left groin strain and recalled Scott Maine from Triple-A Iowa.
The 23-year-old Castillo is 0-1 with a 7.04 earned run average over seven appearances with the Cubs this season.
It is the second stint on the big league club for Maine, 27, who posted an 0-1 record while allowing just one hit and one earned run over 5 2/3 innings in five relief appearances his first time up.
Chicago also outrighted infielder Blake DeWitt to Iowa on Wednesday.
