St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina left Tuesday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates with a sprained right knee.
Molina started the second game of the doubleheader and played three innings before being replaced by Rob Johnson.
The 31-year-old catcher will return to St. Louis on Wednesday for further evaluation.
Molina, a 2013 All-Star, is batting .330 with eight home runs and 54 RBI in 98 games for the Cardinals this year.
