Fan favorite Roy "Big Country" Nelson will make his return to action on April 15 when he faces No. 11 ranked heavyweight Alexander Volkov in the latest addition to the FOX UFC Fight Night card from Kansas City.

UFC officials confirmed the pairing to FOX Sports on Tuesday.

Nelson most recently knocked out Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva but then faced a nine-month suspension after he pushed referee John McCarthy out of anger due to what he felt was a late stoppage in the fight.

Nelson later apologized and the Brazilian athletic commission reduced his nine-month suspension down to six months.

When he returns, Nelson will face rising heavyweight star Alexander Volkov, who will be making his second appearance in the UFC.

Volkov debuted with a hard-fought win over Timothy Johnson and now he'll look to add a true UFC veteran to his resume when he faces Nelson in April.

FOX UFC Fight Night takes place on April 15 with flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson headlining the card against Wilson Reis while top 10 ranked strawweights Rose Namajunas and Michelle Waterson also face off in the co-main event.
