Ex-Patriots cornerback Will Allen sentenced to prison for $35 million Ponzi scheme

Former New England Patriots cornerback Will Allen and his business partner were each sentenced to six years in prison Wednesday for their involvement in a Ponzi scheme that totaled more than $35 million.

Allen and Susan Daub were also ordered to pay $17 million in restitution for collecting million from investors, who were told the money would be used for high-interest loans to pro athletes. From 2012 to 2015, their Massachusetts business made some of the loans, but the pair also pocketed money for themselves and other ventures.

Allen and Daub pleaded guilty in November to a number of charges, including wire fraud and money laundering.
