A total of 330 NFL Draft prospects will file into the same city this week as the Scouting Combine kicks off in Indianapolis. It's the biggest interview of every prospect's life, auditioning to be taken in the first round of the upcoming draft.
It's an annual event that puts the best players on display, while also giving teams the chance to pick the brains of each and every one of them. Cleveland Browns All-Pro tackle Joe Thomas went through it in 2007 when he was the third overall pick in the draft, so he knows what it's like to showcase your skills in Indy.
He shared his thoughts on the process Monday, calling it a "cattle auction."
While it's clear Thomas isn't a fan of the combine, he does have fond memories of the interview process -- namely the weirdest questions he was asked.
It would seem obvious that a team would rather a player say he'd be a dog because, well, dogs are not only better, but also stronger and tougher.
The other question, however, is a bit deeper. The meaning behind it is believed to be that you shouldn't question the value of a gift, no matter what it is. It stumped Thomas, which leads him to believe that's the reason he dropped to No. 3 rather than going first overall.
Thomas never minces words on Twitter, which is what makes him one of the most genuine and honest players in the NFL.
