The New York Jets and longtime center Nick Mangold will be parting ways.
The release of the center will create more than $9 million salary cap space for the team.
The former Pro Bowler took to Twitter on Saturday to thank the organization for 11 years with the team.
Mangold was the Jets' second first-round pick -- fellow lineman D'Brickashaw Ferguson was the first -- in 2006 out of Ohio State. He started 164 of 176 regular-season games, making seven Pro Bowls and twice was a first-team All-Pro selection (2009 and 2010).
